Beware, less we attempt to do things in our own strength

The Christian walk is extremely flawed if the believer seeks to do it in his/her strength. Yet, even when we seek to serve Christ, we may not realize it at times when we react in the flesh, rather than respond in the Spirit.

As we go to God's Word, we are reminded that we wrestle not against flesh, but against Spiritual wickedness in high places. And so, our flesh has a powerful back-up in the name of Satan himself. Therefore, so much the more critical it is for us as believers to be guided, and even saturated by the working of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We must have our steps ordered by the Holy Spirit.

2Cor.10:3-6--For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.

Living in the Spirit In Relation to a Sinning Brother

Galatians 6:1-5:

"Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ. For anyone who thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting in regard to himself alone, and not in regard to another. For each one will bear his own load."

According to Ryrie, Living under grace is not license; it is a life of love and service (Gal.5:6, 13).

Dear believer, it's easy to act in our own strength when we're displeased or annoyed with another person's actions. In fact, we may find ourselves being critical of another person, search the Word to prove the other person has sinned, and then condemn him or her without following the correct Biblical principles as presented in God's Word. Only a Spirit led person, one who is spiritual, can demonstrate the qualities as set out in Galatians 6:1-5.

Let us not be hasty in judging or condemning in secret, then acting out such condemnation in public. Rather, going back to Galatians 6, "You who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted."

Let's also remember God's Word in Galatians 5 where reference is made to the deeds of the flesh being evident in areas such as disputes, dissentions, factions, and envying. Those who practice these things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Gal.5:16-21.
